Training at too low or to high intensities

Envelope of function

When training at to low intensities, adaptational responses on the desired  LEVEL (Bone, ligament, tendon , muscle etc.) could  be jeopardized. The opposite is also true, when training at to high intensities internal structural homeostasis could be in danger.

The answer is optimal loading with the desired intensity that will drive physiological adaptation based on the manipulation of the mechanical loading variables, in this instance intensity.

Zone of Supraphysiological overload = OVERLOADING

Zone of homeostasis = OPTIMAL LOADING

Zone of Subphysiological underloading = UNDERLOADING OF PARTICULAR STRUCTURES
